LAB / ORA PRESS is an independent publisher of books and zines on ecology, social justice and contemplation.

LAB / ORA takes its name from the Benedictine phrase ‘ora et labora’, which means “prayer and work”. For us, it’s a nod to Dorothy Day, the founder of the Catholic Worker movement, known for her radical social activism as well as the CW newspaper. LAB / ORA grew out of the Passionists monastic movement, which has its spiritual roots in acts of solidarity with the suffering.
